At 24 I considered myself in the prime of my life and in reasonable physical health. That was until I decided to take up the challenge of a game of squash which cruelly exposed not only my lack of co ordination but more worryingly a lack of fitness. Jerry was recommended to me by a friend and despite the scepticism of many of my friends I decided to take the plunge and try personal training. After a free consultation, Jerry designed a structured programme which consisted of cardiovascular, body conditioning and resistance training. I was able to see results straight away – I can now run / cycle continuously for 45 minutes. I play squash once a week and through Jerry’s training and encouragement my stamina levels have improved considerably. I have been a regular gym user for many years but had reached a plateau in my routines and work outs. I contacted Jerry through his website, having set myself the challenge of completing a half marathon, I wanted professional guidance to help me achieve my goal. I opted for a package of 8 sessions which included free consultation / health assessment and one free session. Jerry put together a structured programme which was fun, varied and challenging. I completed the St Albans half marathon in 2 hours 10 minutes and have now set my sights on the London marathon! Jerry worked with me to ensure I was ready for the half marathon in terms of physical condition and also in understanding the importance of nutrition and fuelling the body to aid my training and recovery. It was a holiday to Mexico that spurred me to contact Jerry through his website. I wanted to lose weight and tone up. Jerry got me to set specific goals within agreed timescales. As a mum with 2 young children and a demanding job, it was difficult juggling work, parental responsibilities and exercise, simultaneously. As my trainer Jerry was a great motivator, and used his experience to design a training programme I could do in the home, outside of my sessions with Jerry. With Jerry’s professional support and encouragement I have dropped 3 dress sizes and all my girlfriends want to know what my secret is!

I was sceptical of the whole personal training concept – as expensive, gym based and inflexible given my working hours. After a free consultation, Jerry was able to dispel my concerns and having worked with him over a 9 month period I am fully converted to the benefits of personal training. I was a serial gym joiner who after initial enthusiasm would see my gym direct debit leave my bank account with no return. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that personal training need not be gym based and Jerry devised some of our sessions in the park and at my home. During our sessions Jerry got me to look at diet, lifestyle, aerobic exercise and core stability exercise and how they would help me achieve my goals. I have used other personal trainers in the past and I can honestly say I have never enjoyed sessions with other trainers as much as I do with Jerry. I have been frustrated with other trainers not pushing me and that is definitely not something I associate with Jerry, each session I am pushed hard and having fun at the same time, it has been years since I have felt this good! What keeps it so much fun is Jerry himself and the variation in the training, my wife and I (we train together) always try to second guess what each session will bring, will he bring the exercise ball, medicine ball, boxing gloves, weights, old tyres, skipping ropes etc or will there be no props! I would strongly recommend Jerry to anyone thinking about getting personal training.
